A Few Things to Know About Popping Pimples

Most teenagers will feel irritated when they spot a pimple thats about to mar their complexion. But even adults, though they should be mature enough to understand that a pimple is not the end of the world, can't seem to accept zits easily.

Everyone knows that pimples usually take a few days to disappear. However, the capacity to wait is not one of the main human virtues, so most people will feel tempted to somehow force the clogging out of the pimple.

Popping the pimple is not recommended, but if you're still going to do it, you should at least be aware of what you have to take into account when doing it.

First of all, your face has to be clean. Otherwise, you risk allowing more dust or sweat to enter the skin pores. Dry your face with a soft towel by gentle patting movements, not by rubbing. If you rub your face, it will only increase irritation, not to mention that it may cause the pimple to break and spread the fluids inside it, thus making it possible for new pimples to appear.

The second step is to use a clean cotton pad or some other kind of light and soft material for applying an astringent on your face. This will make the tissue contract, in addition to keeping secretions in check. Make sure your hands and fingernails are perfectly clean before performing this operation. Some people even recommend sterile gloves, though you should be fine as long as your hands are washed well.

Next, youre going to use a needle to prick the pimple with it. But before that, you should sterilize the needle, for instance, by holding it in the flame of a lighter or a candle. Use sterile gauze for collecting what comes out of the pimple, and then press it softly from two opposing sides until blood or lymph comes out of it. Additionally, you might want to use some ointment to help the skin heal, but you should avoid doing anything else to the area where the pimple was.

Sterile cloth and sterile needless are much better tools than your nails. Using your nails can build a passage for the bacteria residing under your nails to move onto the pimple, which will make things worse than they already were in the first place.

There are several other don'ts to be taken into account during the operation of extracting the fluid inside a pimple. For instance, if the pimple is not yet mature, you should wait. Pressing the area of an immature zit may cause everything that's inside it to be pushed into the deeper layers of the epidermis. Instead, you can apply warm salt water on the pimple by using soft gauze. When exposed to the heat of the warm water, the skin pores tend to open and the pimple becomes softer. Concurrently, the salt has a drying effect and draws out the clog.

If the procedure seems too complicated to you, remember you can always just wait and let the pimple disappear naturally.
